While we wait for the men’s singles action, play is already up and running on No. 1 Court today — where the women’s doubles semifinals are playing out.
First up and on court now are the eighth seeds, with Russia’s Veronika Kudermetova and Belgian Elise Mertens, tackling the duo of U.S. star Desirae Krawczyk and Australia’s Olivia Gadecki.
The latter pair has held serve in the opening game.
The second semi then pits the top seeds with fourth, as Czech star Kateřina Siniaková — fresh from claiming the mixed doubles title yesterday — lines up with Taylor Townsend of the U.S. They face Hsieh Su-Wei and Jelena Ostapenko (4).
Between those matches is one of the men’s wheelchair semifinals, where defending champion and home hope Alfie Hewett (2) will face Spain’s Martin de la Puente (3), in a repeat of last year’s final. Top seed Tokito Oda faces Gustavo Fernandez (4) in the other semi, over on No. 3 Court later today.
We’ll keep you up to date with all the key details from those matches over the course of the day.
