Tina Knowles’ granddaughter Blue Ivy has major skills when it comes to a makeup look.

On Thursday, June 26, the Matriarch author, 71, uploaded a video on Instagram of her granddaughter, 13, putting the finishing touches on her makeup. Set to Beyoncé’s “II Hands II Heaven,” Blue Ivy’s hand can be seen in the video applying a bold red lipstick color to her grandmother’s lips.

“Today I wanted to attend the @bluemarineparis runway show to see my grandson @iamjulezjsmith walk in the show! !” she wrote in her caption. “I did not have a Makeup Artist so I asked my talented granddaughter Blue Ivy to do my makeup. She did a fabulous job. ❤️❤️ what yal think?”

Knowles is a grandmother to four grandchildren, including Beyoncé’s children, Blue Ivy and twins Rumi and Sir, 8, and daughter Solange Knowles’ son Julez Smith, 20.

Knowles always looks good — and she credits her “manager” granddaughter for that. On April 14, Knowles revealed via Instagram that her granddaughter has been giving her beauty tips, going so far as dyeing her eyebrows to ensure that she continues to pop despite a few gray hairs.

“My beauty guru and my manager, Miss Blue Ivy Carter has instructed me that I need to dye my eyebrows because they have little gray streaks in them,” Knowles explained while facing the camera.

“So that’s what she’s doing, and I can’t wait to see the end results because right now I look like Dracula’s mama or something,” she added, referring to the near-black dye sitting on her brows, applied by Blue Ivy’s expert hands.

As the matriarch of the family, she takes her role as a grandmother extremely seriously

As a part of Glamour’s Women of the Year issue, published on Thursday, Oct. 3, she opened up about how it feels to see comments about her children in the media. When it comes to her daughters, Knowles said, “I take it with a grain of salt most of the time.”

However, it’s a different story with her grandkids. “You mess with my grandchildren, though, I’m coming,” the proud grandma said. “Because they’re minors, and they didn’t ask to be in this.”

While promoting her memoir at the Jennifer Hudson Show, the fashion designer spoke about how proud she is of her daughters. From Beyoncé‘s, 43, historic wins at the 2025 Grammy Awards to Solange‘s, 38, extraordinary work as a producer, Knowles is a proud mom.

The mom of two also opened up to host Jennifer Hudson, 43, about the ways Blue Ivy takes after her and how her future is bright. When asked if Blue Ivy ever comes to her for advice, Knowles said that the teenager usually goes to her mother.

“Her and her mother are really tight, and so they don’t need me to give much advice,” Knowles told Hudson, before she added, “They tell me to mind my business.”
