OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – The Omaha Public Power District says a power outage in South Omaha is due to a burnt out switch.
According to OPPD, the outage is affecting around 1,600 customers in the area.
OPPD said they were able to restore power to 80 customers, and hopes to have power restored to the area by 4:30 p.m., barring any unforeseen developments.
According to OPPD, a small number of commercial customers will remain out of power until they are able to change out the burnt-out switch, which is estimated to be 11 p.m.
The area affected is bordered by Leavenworth to the north, Grover Street to the South, and 9th Street to the east and 24th Street to the west.
The outage did temporarily close the Durham Museum.
