Packers cut ties with 2 players after finally signing 2nd-round pick

The Green Bay Packers finally got their second-round pick signed.

They announced Friday afternoon that offensive tackle Anthony Belton had agreed to his contract.

Belton joins a busy list of second-round picks signed in recent days. The big fella started at left tackle for three seasons at North Carolina State, and he joins incumbent starter Rasheed Walker in Green Bay.

The Packers announced in conjunction with the move that they have cut two defensive linemen: Nesta Jade Silvera and Cameron Young.

Silvera is a former college player at Miami and Arizona State who was a seventh-round pick of the Raiders in 2023. He just joined the Packers this offseason. He has 10 career tackles in NFL regular season action.

Young was a fourth-round pick by the Seahawks in 2023. He has 18 total tackles in his NFL career, all with Seattle.

Young was waived by the Seahawks in April and joined the Packers in June.

Now, as Green Bay continues to look for its optimal 90-man roster configuration, these two defensive linemen are looking for new gigs.
