She was originally supposed to face Liv Morgan at Sunday’s Evolution premium live event in Atlanta, but Morgan suffered a serious shoulder injury and those plans had to be scrapped. On Raw last night (July 8), Nikki Bella was finally booked for this weekend’s all-women show.
She’s now going to be part of a battle royal for a title shot at August’s Clash in Paris event. That notion has some people thinking Bella could be making like former fiancé John Cena and getting one last run with a WWE belt before she hangs up the boots for good. Nikki’s one of them, as she told Busted Open earlier today that her return to WWE isn’t a temporary thing:
“I’m so excited to be part of the battle royal. I want that big moment. To have such a big moment, I really want to win because it’s the perfect way to start a big comeback. A comeback that is not just here for a month or two, it’s here for a while.
“Sometimes things work in funny ways and the Liv story, maybe that would have been it. Now, the battle royal opens up to a whole new beginning of things.”
And on a visit to the set of Live with Kelly and Mark, Nikki teased that she needs one more thing for her “for a while” comeback to be complete, and it isn’t a championship. Asked if twin sister Brie will be joining her on this run, Bella said:
“Well, she better join me. I mean, it’s the only way I sometimes feel like I can win is if I have her. The fans are speaking really loudly — our Bella Army — they really want Brie back. And I really want her back. I feel like this comeback won’t be complete until the Bella Twins are together. So, it’ll be iconic.”
Thoughts on a third WWE Women’s title reigns for Nikki Bella? How about the return of BRIE MODE?
