The Dallas Wings (6-13) have been playing much-improved basketball lately, winning two games in a row. It’s going to be tough, though, for the team to get another win on Monday night against the Phoenix Mercury (12-6), the league’s second-best team, but not impossible, as Phoenix has lost two in a row.

That includes a loss to this Wings team, with Dallas beating the Mercury 98-89 on Thursday. Aziaha James went off for the Wings, with the rookie scoring 28 points and adding six rebounds and six assists. Paige Bueckers had 23 points while fellow rookie JJ Quinerly finished with 17 points, five rebounds, and seven assists.

Phoenix got 33 points out of Kahleah Copper in the loss, but it wasn’t enough. Alyssa Thomas was held to nine points, though she contributed in other ways, grabbing seven rebounds and dishing out 10 assists.
