Five fast facts about Dustin Poirier’s wife Jolie.
As Dustin Poirier prepares to lay his gloves down inside the Octagon and ride off into the metaphorical sunset, the former interim lightweight champion has said that his wife, Jolie, is ready for him to come home.
Ahead of The Diamond’s UFC 318 headliner tonight, here are five fast facts about Dustin Poirier’s wife.
#1: She Wrote Letters To Him While He Was In Juvenile Detention
While many fans know that Dustin Poirier’s wife has been with him throughout his UFC career, the two go all the way back to middle school.
In an interview with UFC.com, Poirier explained how, when he was 10 years old, he had to go to court after knocking a 15-year-old’s teeth out during a fight. Years later, in part due to his previous legal troubles, he wound up in juvenile detention.
As he explained to former NFL QB Robert Griffin III during an episode of his Outta Pocket Podcast, Jolie was the one of the few people besides his mom who wrote him letters:
“When I was in juvenile detention, and me and her might have not even been dating at that time, she was writing me letters every week. One of the only — besides my mother — the only letters I would get was her. And when I got out of juvenile detention, she was there. She drove all the way out, to watch me leave and stuff like that. And I was like, ‘I’m gonna marry this girl.’”
#2: She Drove Dustin To His First Fight
Not only has Dustin Poirier’s wife been his biggest supporter throughout his UFC career, but she’s also been his biggest supporter since day one.
During an appearance on The Danza Project earlier in the week, Poirier dished on the support he’s received from his wife over the years, saying:
“She’s been with me- I didn’t have a car, she drove me to my first fight when I was 18 years old. I’ve been with my wife for a long time. She’s seen both sides [of the fight game] and she’s just ready for me to come home.”
As he went on to explain, fittingly, his wife was also the first one to know about his plans to retire.
#3: She C0-Owns A Wine Shop
Back in 2023, Jolie and Dustin Poirier joined several other Lafayette locals in purchasing Marcello’s Wine Mart, a business that had been around for more than 30 years.
According to DevelopingLafayette.com, the group got together to purchase the wine shop after the owner retired, with the outlet quoting one of the other co-owners as saying:
“We are thrilled to continue the legacy that Gene and Carlos Todaro have created in the community. Our plans for the acquisition are to make small, incremental upgrades to the company while maintaining its presence and integrity in the community.”
The company often does giveaways when Poirier fights, as seen below.

#4: She Once Famously Gave Conor McGregor The Middle Finger
After keeping things respectful for their UFC 257 clash in 2021, Conor McGregor pulled out all the stops heading into his UFC 264 fight with Dustin Poirier, notably taking some shots at The Diamond’s wife.
After McGregor broke his leg at the end of the first round, the former champ champ doubled down while speaking with Joe Rogan for his post-fight Octagon interview, alleging that Dustin Poirier’s wife was in his DMs.
In response, Jolie gave him the middle finger on the way out of the Octagon, while firing off a number of choice words at the Irish star.
At the time, she shared an image of the moment captured by a fan on her Instagram story.
#5: She’s the Director of The Good Fight Foundation
Back in 2018, Dustin Poirier and his wife decided to use pieces of memorabilia from previous fights to raise money in order to gift backpacks with school supplies to students, and computers to teachers at Acadian Middle School.
The decision led to the creation of The Good Fight Foundation, which has raised thousands of dollars for various charities, helped bring water to an African village, and much more around the couple’s hometown of Lafayette.
Given that Dustin’s main focus has been on fighting, Jolie serves as the VP and Director of The Good Fight Foundation.
