Coldplay’s Chris Martin makes massive song error during concert

Chris Martin seemingly had a memory lapse during a show last week.

While performing “A Sky Full of Stars” in Toronto as part of the band’s “Music of the Spheres World Tour,” the Coldplay frontman, 48, forgot the lyrics and missed his cue to come in.

“I f—– up, I f—– up. I’m so sorry, I’m so sorry,” he told the audience as the band stopped playing, per a TikTok video posted by a fan. “I forgot to come in on the right line. Now, normally, I do stop this song as a joke but I did genuinely just make a big mistake, so please forgive me … I’m so sorry. That was an actual f— up. S—. Oh, balls,” Martin said.

He then walked over to his bandmates to briefly discuss the gaffe. “This is the benefit of being in a band with your brothers for 30 years,” Martin told the crowd as he returned to the main stage a few moments later.

Apologizing again, he said: “Listen, I’m so sorry, I forgot the words. I forgot what to say. It happens sometimes when you’re my age. I’m nearly 80 years old,” he teased. “But let’s pretend that didn’t happen. Don’t put that on YouTube, if you please,” Martin continued.

Unfortunately, the moment did end up being shared on social media. However, most fans were understanding of Martin’s slip-up.

“This concert was magical and they are so talented. Mistakes happen. They’re human too,” remarked one user in the comment section.

Another said: “He can do no wrong.”

But one user was a little bit more critical. “Why can he never sing his songs properly on stage?” read their comment.

Coldplay’s “Music of the Spheres World Tour,” began in March 2022 and is set to end in September. The band will perform two sold-out concerts at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, MA, tonight and tomorrow before heading to Madison, Wisconsin. They will also make stops in Nashville and Miami before concluding the tour with final performances at Craven Park in Hull and Wembley Stadium in London.
