KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – One of the biggest shows in television doesn’t have a release date announced yet, but it may be filming in Kansas City soon.
Season 4 of ‘Ted Lasso,’ starring Overland Park native Jason Sudeikis, could be filming in Kansas City, Missouri, according to a casting call put out by Alessi Hartigan Casting Missouri.
“A major series is filming soon in Kansas City, Mo,” the announcements from the casting director said.
Several male and female stand-in roles, as well as for grocery shoppers, kids’ flag football team, museum employees, pilots or grounds crew, sports game attendees and more are requested.
Photos of the actors that need stand-ins appeared to be resembling Sudeikis and co-stars Hannah Waddingham (aka Rebecca Welton), Juno Temple (Keeley Jones) and Jeremy Swift (Leslie Higgins).
Plans for Season 4 of the show have yet to be shared, but in March, Sudeikis appeared on the New Heights Podcast with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and his brother Jason. In that appearance, the Shawnee Mission West alum said the next season was being written.
“We’re writing Season 4 now. That’s the official word,” Sudeikis said. “Ted’s coaching a women’s team. Yeah.”
When Travis asked if coach Lasso was coming back to the United States, Sudeikis replied, “Yeah, that’s too many questions,” and took a sip of his drink with a grin.
“While we’re always excited about film and television projects that might choose Kansas City, we’re not able to confirm specific details about any upcoming productions at this time,” said KC Film Office Director Rachel Kephart. “We understand the enthusiasm around this possibility, and we’d certainly share any information we’re able to when appropriate.”
The casting call asks for men and women 18 years old and older for “various dates in July.” It pays $18.75 an hour.
