Tsunami watch issued for Hawaii after M7.5 earthquake off Russia


HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – A tsunami watch has been canceled for Hawaii following a magnitude 7.5 earthquake that occurred off the east coast of Kamchatka, Russia.

The earthquake occurred at 8:49 p.m. local time.

The watch was issued at 9:03 p.m. and canceled at 9:42 p.m.

According to the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center, based on all available data there is no tsunami threat to Hawaii.
