Picture this: You’re watching a horror movie when A’ja Wilson and Breanna Stewart suddenly appear on screen. Who makes it to the final scene and becomes the first victim? The WNBA’s most prominent stars just answered that exact question, and their responses reveal which players they think would crumble under pressure when things get scary.
Who Did A’ja Wilson and Breanna Stewart Pick to Die First in a Horror Movie?
The WNBA’s most prominent stars faced the ultimate test this weekend during All-Star festivities in Indianapolis. Between the 3-Point Contest, Skills Challenge, and WNBA All-Star Game spread across two days, the league’s elite players found themselves in Indiana for a lively weekend of basketball and entertainment.
While fan favorites like Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese, and Paige Bueckers drew plenty of attention at the event, former MVPs Wilson and Stewart, two of the game’s most talented stars, stole the show with some comedic moments. The two stars faced a particularly entertaining question that had everyone laughing.
Wilson and Stewart were asked which WNBA player wouldn’t survive in a horror movie. Their answers caught people off guard.
At these events, the media have ample access to the players. These occasions also allow the athletes to relax, open up, and show their more playful personalities to fans.
The press came prepared with fun questions for the players, including one that dove into the horror film genre. The question came in two parts, asking the WNBA All-Stars which player would survive and who would die first in a horror movie.

Wilson went with someone she knew well when asked who would die first. She chose a college teammate for the unfortunate honor. “Allisha Gray,” said the Las Vegas Aces center. “And I’m probably going to be right there with her because I’m going to be following her up.”
Meanwhile, Stewart took a different approach, naming a fellow New York Liberty teammate as the first character to get eliminated. “Sabs, she gets scared a lot,” Stewart said about Sabrina Ionescu.

Not surprisingly, several players picked Stewart as the one who would make it out alive.
Which Players Would Survive the Horror Movie?
Both Ionescu and Wilson thought the two-time MVP would survive until the end. This choice probably stems from her calm, composed nature on the court, and her teams typically fight until the final buzzer.
Stewart wasn’t the only player getting votes for survival. The Seattle Storm’s Skylar Diggins and the Minnesota Lynx’s Napheesa Collier each received multiple votes for the last standing.
The playful banter sets up an interesting dynamic for Saturday’s main event. Wilson, who will represent Team Clark, and Stewart, playing for Team Collier, will find themselves on opposite sides when they face off at the 2025 All-Star Game.
After all this horror movie talk, seeing which one comes out on top and “survives” what everyone expects to be a highly competitive exhibition game should be fun.
